I haven't been skating as much lately, so I've had some time to sew! (Don't worry though, I got right back up on that horse-or skate-and signed up for wRECk Night, so I will still be skating and maybe even trying out again in May)
A lovely online friend of mine, Wendy of UsWithoutYou has organized a fundraiser for the American Brain Tumor Association, in memory of her husband, Chris. Its called Corks for a Cure and they will be auctioning off 20 bottles of wine, along with some other great prizes. I have always wanted to try to make wine gift bags, and this was the perfect opportunity! After a few trials and errors, here is what I came up with.
A simple drawstring bag, with a felt gray ribbon on it for Brain Cancer Awareness! I have already finished up ten of these lovlies, and the second grouping will have a smaller ribbon. They are all in such fun fabrics that I cannot wait for Wendy to see them! Who says just because the awareness ribbon is gray, that the bags can't be fun and bright?? I used some of my favorite fabrics and could not be happier with the way these turned out!
And don't worry--I haven't forgotten about the 80's leg warmer tutorial I promised...its in the works! I even borrowed some legs from my fellow skaters so I could try making different sizes LOL.
